Downtown’s 61-year-old Meat Packers Outlet has closed, as of Tuesday, Jan. 22. The business made the announcement in a post on their Facebook page.
“After 61 years of serving the city of Columbus we are sorry to say we have closed our doors as of January 22, 2019. Thank you for your patronage over the years,” the post reads.
Meat Packers Outlet has been in the Bangert family since 1957, first opened by Adam Sr. and his son Adam Jr. The outlet moved to its location at 317 S. Fifth St. in 1961 and has operated there since, most recently under Pat and Dan Bangert, the sons of Adam Jr.
No reason was given for the closure.
