  • It was in June, 1878, that my great grandfather George F. Currie gained possession of two and a half acres of land for the compound at Tuni, the price being 320 rupees or about $150. My great grandfather and great grandmother (George F. and Marie A. Currie) were the founding Canadian Missionaries in 1877. I was able to visit the Church and compound three years ago. I was warmly welcomed by the congregation and received many blessings. It was the highlight of my trip to India. Russell R. Currie Cheers, Russell
