Designed c. 1907 by Palmer & Hornbostel with structural elements by the Guastavino Fireproof Tile Co. The firm used local brick, handmade tiles and terra cotta in a design that symbolized the congregation's love of tradition and its modern approach to Judaism. The inspiration was from the Mosque of San Sophia at Constantinople.
