Formerly known as Philippine Union College (PUC) in the 90's and 80's and Northeast Luzon Academy (NELA) back in the 70's.

Adventist University of the Philippines is a private institution of higher learning. A Christian boarding school dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence and Christian values. Our aim is to "train people for service in this world and the world to come."

Mission
The Adventist University of the Philippines exists to provide quality Christian education that facilitates the growth of students so that they may lead lives that are personally satisfying and may contribute to the welfare of the church and the society that sustain them.
Goals
To achieve our mission, the University is dedicated to the following:

1. To inculcate the love of God, country and fellow men, with emphasis on a high regard for human life.
2. To ensure relevant curriculum and quality instruction, through competent and qualified faculty, adequate instructional facilities and purposeful research activities.
3. To develop leadership capabilities and management skills committed to excellent and Christ-like service, responsive to change and development.
4. To emphasize the dignity of labor and to develop skills by providing opportunities to work.
5. To exemplify a unique lifestyle in conformity with the Seventh-day Adventist health message.
6. To actively participate in community extension services.
7. To advocate and support efforts to conserve, protect and improve the environment and promote sustainable development.
8. To establish and maintain linkages with local, national, and international academic institutions, government agencies and non-government organizations and entities.
9. To prepare graduates who are adequately trained, competent in their chosen field of study, and committed to serve God and society.
