Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument (New York City, New York)

Historic monument designed c. 1908 by McKim, Mead & White with sculptural work by Adolph Weinman. The iconic tile vaults by the Guastavino Fireproof Tile Co. secure the roof of the crypt underneath the monument that holds the remains of many of the prison ship martyrs. It is said that this was the very last design of Stanford White's life.
