Balham's tube station is served by trains on the Northern Line of the London Underground. It is located by a National Rail Mainline station. The tube station was hit by a bomb during WW2. The underground station was being used as a bomb shelter at the time, and many people died. The tube station was constructed in 1926 and was Grade II listed in 1987.
