The site of the heavy water plant during World War II. Locals, in cooperation with British special forces and later the United States Air Force, made several sabotage and bombing efforts to destroy the Nazi controlled facility before they could harvest enough material to make atomic weapons. The coordinates are N 59° 52' 18.00", E 008° 29' 40.00". This is the setting for the Heroes of Telemark starring Kirk Douglas and Richard Harris.
