Second World War 1939-1945, military, artillery battery
Constructed in 1943, its guns were not emplaced until 1948. The very next year, they were removed and the battery abandoned. Today, the battery is overgrown and used as a storage area for the Department of Veterans Affairs San Francisco Medical Center. Only Emplacement 2 in accessable as Emplacement 1 is completely overgrown.
