The first house of Lensovet
One of the best examples of the so-called House of specialists - residential buildings, construction of which is actively beginning in the mid-1930s.
The House on Karpovka - one of the most famous monuments in Leningrad, reflecting the architecture of the period of transition from the vanguard to the development of the classical heritage.
The authors are the architects of the building project Ye. Levinson and I. Fomin. House built in 1931-1935 years. The facade facing the Karpovka curved in an arc of large radius, which makes the building extremely expressive. House raised on a high plinth, which must be protected from flooding by the river from the coast of withdrawal, the first floor is a children's garden on the roof - a solarium. The building is situated and comfortable apartments with spacious living rooms, bathrooms, multiple, built-in furniture of fine wood, bathrooms, alcoves for servants.
The courtyard of the building surrounded by a high grille with raised accents, arranged in the yard is securely protected from sun and wind arbor.
The house was supposed to be part of the overall ensemble together with the Promkooperatsii HoC and other objects around the axis of the street was supposed to break through and through Karpovka should have been thrown a bridge. Layout idea was never realized.

Despite many advantages, this house is not devoid of drawbacks inherent to buildings of that time: the poor quality of engineering systems, their high wear, poor heat and sound insulating properties of walls and partitions.
