Two 6" disappearing carriage guns were mounted here from 1906 to 1918.

Battery Rivardi was named on December 27, 1904 in honor of Major John J.U. Rivardi, 1st Artillerists and Engineers, who served from 1795 to 1802, and who died January 4, 1808.
