Harbour Grace Airport

In May 1932 Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot, took off from this airport and flew across the Atlantic. She flew from this airfield in Harbour Grace and a little less than 15 hours later, after a long and difficult flight, landed in Clifden, Northern Ireland.
