Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS) are enhancements to the Global Positioning System (GPS), like this one at the Geomundo Lighthouse, provide improved location accuracy from 15-meter GPS accuracy to about 10 cm, depending on implementations. Each DGPS uses a network of fixed ground based reference stations to broadcast the difference between the positions indicated by the GPS satellite system and known fixed positions.
