A shopping center originally developed as Apache Plaza, a 1961 mall (fully enclosed) featuring primarily stores centered around a large center court. A 1984 tornado heavily damaged the mall, and while the mall reopened six months later, it never fully recovered. A stand-alone Cub Foods was built around 1997 following the closure of J.C. Penney, with the remainder of the mall closing in 2003 and being demolished for a Wal-Mart and smaller stores. It assumed its present name at this time.
