Puerto Ordaz today one of the cities with highest rate of industrial and economic growth is also one of the best planned and most modern ones in the country. Founded in 1952, as the headquarters of the Orinoco Mining Company, this city lodges the iron and aluminum industry which in Venezuela, is second only to the oil industry.
