Building constructed around 1910, was a former Gulf gas station and car rental agency until the late 1960's and a sign shop from around the 1980's until the 1990's. The current building is now a southern buffet restaurant, opened in April 2004. With a location along the railroad tracks, The Filling Station has an atmosphere as good as the food it serves. The buffet, filled with the classic southern comfort cuisine, is one not to miss. The restaurant has walls covered with items from gas stations of the 1940's and 1950's as well as restored, decorative gas pumps in one of their dining rooms.

The former gas/service station was a prime location for salesmen who needed to rent cars.
