Former Soo Line Railroad Bridge

The Minneapolis, Saint Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad, which later became the Soo Line, crossed the Mississippi River on this bridge, which was built in 1910. This was part of a route through Bemidji, where the railroad crossed the Mississippi River a second time. Passenger train service on this line ended on May 16, 1959, while freight service continued until 1985. The bridge is now in use as part of a hiking trail.

and 36 of them are still being used by freight railroads.
