Storm Lake 2 Wind Farm is located north of 500th Street, centered about 9 miles east and 6 miles north of Cherokee, Iowa. Commissioned in 1999, it now consists of 104 Zond Z-50 wind turbines on lattice towers with a combined nominal capacity of 78 MW. This wind farm originally contained 107 turbines, but 3 of them have been decommissioned over the years.
