This place is actually remanant part and parcel of Mahal Kona Kismat ( Kona Mouza ) belonging to the erstwhile zamindars of the Chatterjee family of Kona. Earlier it was known as Chatterjee para. This has been well documented in the C.S. Records of Rights 1937. The rest of Mahal Kona Kismat ( now modern Kona ) has been embossed with different names viz. Dhara para, Mondal para, daktar bagan etc. With a sinister motive, the original / actual name of Chatterjee para has been subverted to derive political mileage by appeasing some persons and in the process distort history . But with the change of guards at the helm of the Howrah Municipal Corporation it is expected that the area is re-embossed as Chatterjee para of Kona. Hope the residents of the particular locality rise up to the occasion for re-embossing the area and help it regain its lost name and glory in the history of Kona, Howrah, West Bengal .
