Incoming press releases came in via radioteletype signals from the Pacific area and were then relayed to San Francisco for newspaper distribution. It is currently unknown when it opened (possibly 1946), but it was gone by 1968 as all of ten rhombic antennas and outbuildings were no longer evident in an aerial photo dating to that time. The Press Wireless transmitter site, with 14 rhombic antennas, was located 40 miles away in Belmont where Sandpiper Elementary School sits today.
