SSMUPS was started as an L P School on 1968 BY JANAB KASSIM PILLAI RAWTHER at karalikonam a remote village at that time.The founder manager was an agriculturelist and a social reformer with great enthuciasm of uplifting the poor people in the area,who were educationally and financially backward. He believed that the only way of uplifting the illiterate people in the area,majority of them were from the backward community Muslims is giving proper education.The school helped to irradicate the illiteracy of the area.Now so many eminent persons are from karalikonam in the different walks of life,who are started their basic education from this school.The school is upgraded as an Upper Primery School on 1982 by his elder son Dr.K K UNUS KUTTY,presently the Pro Vice chancellor of the Mahathma Gandhi University,Kottayam.Seeti Sahib Memorial Teacher Training Institute is also established in the year 2004 near to this school campus.Smt BEEVI KUNJU the widow of Janab Kassim Pilli Rawther is the Chief Patron. The present Manager is Smt.Jameela Beevi.and the Headmistress is Smt. Mehujana beevi.The first headmistress of the school was Smt Suhra Beevi.
