111-foot, 10-story Renaissance-revival office building completed in 1905. Designed by Frederick C. Zobel, it is clad in beige brick above a 2-story brown cast-iron base. The ground floor is framed by fluted engaged columns with a modernized storefront; the columns have a scale pattern at the 2nd floor, that continues onto the lintel above the projecting show windows. Above the main center pane is a cartouche flanked by acanthus leaves with the number 36.

The 3rd-8th floors each have four windows divided by brown metal mullions, with stone sills and lintel courses. The windows at the 8th floor are joined under a shallow arch; above there is a similar cartouche to that on the 2nd floor, console brackets on the outer piers and a dentiled cornice setting off the crown of the building.

The top floors have narrower piers dividing the facade into four equal bays. Above the 9th-floor windows are scalloped stone arches with large keystones. The top floors has short attic windows, topped by a roof section angling back and lined with skylights in 16 panes. The side elevations are clad in reddish-brown brick, each with one bay of windows. There is a large round water tank on the roof. The ground floor is occupied by Krispy Kreme donuts.
