Kottiyam is a town on the National Highway 47, 11 km south of Kollam and 60 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, in Kollam District. The famous Amalotbhava Matha Church in Pullichira is the major land mark. Umayanallor Sree Balasubramanya Swamy Temple renowned for the famous ‘Anavalpidi’ festival, is about 4 km from Kottiyam.
