The New Eastside neighborhood is a relatively tranquil area just northeast of Chicago's Loop. Illinois Center ( the portion from Michigan Avenue east to Columbus Street, is mostly office space. East of Columbus is primarily a residential neighborhood including a mix of old buildings (The Parkshore and Outer Drive East for examples) and the new Lakeshore East development.
