Both of the boat tours operates from May through October, depending on the weather, and from 10am to 7pm (shorter hours in the spring and fall). Please arrive 15-30 minutes early. The information and ticket center is located near The Ice Cream Shop (now closed).

This one-hour boat tour of the Lower Dells highlights the unique impact that the glacial age had on this region of beautiful Wisconsin. Relive the river and learn the colorful past of the Dells, including stories about the ghost town Newport and the once-vibrant logging era.

The tour highlights notable locations below the river's dam and recounts Native American history and legends as the boat winds around the unique Rocky Islands, a group of sandstone formations projecting up from the river.

Boat Tour of Wisconsin River in the Lower Dells shows the unique impact that the glacial age had on this region of Wisconsin and features such noteworthy landmarks such as the Rocky Islands, including the Baby Grand Piano, Lone Rock, Sugar Bowl, and Grotto Rock. The Lower Dells is home to a variety of wildlife, beautiful trees, ferns, and flowers.

Tour guides describe the prehistoric past of the Dells, how the unique rock formations have been shaped for thousands of years by glacial run-off and the effects of wind and water.

Guides also share the historical accounts of the river men of the late 1800's, who traversed the treacherous waters of the Wisconsin River as they moved their lumber south.
