Qasr Al Mushatta is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage sites and is currently (2012) undergoing significant renovation. Unfortunately the castle is situated directly next to Queen Alia Airport's north runway which disturbs the visitor's experience; nonetheless it is a beautiful site to visit, and much easier and faster accessible than the desert castles east of Amman.
