estate (manor / mansion land), invisible
A 17th-century residence outside of the city of Paris, the Château de Wideville was built by Louis XIII’s finance minister and was later home to one of Louis XIV’s mistresses. Currently owned by the retired fashion designer Valentino, who also maintains luxurious homes in London, Rome, New York City, and Gstaad, Switzerland.
Valentino acquired the 8-bedroom castle in 1995. The estate comprises 280-acre gardens designed by Wirtz International, a dove house, a pavilion containing a shell grotto, and a large building housing the Valentino Garavani Archives.
