Dashwood House (London)

United Kingdom / England / London / Old Broad Street, 69
 office building, high-rise

Dashwood House is a 73-metre (241 ft) 19-story highrise building in London's main financial district, the City of London. It is named after the Alderman Francis Dashwood, whose house originally occupied the site.

Upon its completion in 1976, Dashwood House had 16 storeys and measured 63 metres (208 ft) tall with a total 17,409 sq m (187,319 sq ft). It was also clad in pinkish granite and the top two floors were mechanical floors.

In October 2006, planning permission was granted for a refurbishment and height extension of Dashwood House. The refurbishment took place from 2007 to 2008. The scheme took the building's height to 19 storeys and 73 metres (241 ft) with a total floor area of 21,194 sq m (228,130 sq ft). The previous top two mechanical floors were demolished and replaced with five floors of office accommodation. The building's interior is protected from direct sunlight through the application of silk-screened dot matrix fritting to the replacement high-performance glass curtain wall. The curtain wall also incorporates smoke vents. In total, the building is clad with around 1,600 panels covering an area of roughly 9,700 square meters (104,410 sq ft).

Dashwood House achieves a BREEAM rating of "Excellent".
