Formerly known as the Tidewater Building, 1440 Canal Street is officially a 24-story building designed in the by Kessels-Diboll-Kessels. It originally was built as the corporate office for Tidewater Marine in 1971. Tidewater Inc. donated the building to Tulane University in 1993. The building is the home to Tulane University Health Sciences Center administrative offices and the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
