Princeton University is one of the famous Ivy League Universities. It takes its name from the town in which it currently resides. It is occasionally called "Old Nassau" because the first building the University built in Princeton was Nassau Hall.
The university colors are Orange & Black, a mistaken tribute to the houses of Orange and Nassau, whose colors did not include orange, being instead named for the town in France. These colors nonetheless give Princeton its mascot, the Tiger. The university's distinctive sports uniforms have been used as a model by similarly themed teams around the country.
