Ramenki District (Moscow)

Ramenki District of Western Administrative Okrug. One of the most ecologically pure areas of moscow. The origin of the name "Ramenki" is currently unknown, but the name is very old, dating back to 16th century at least, and possibly refers to dense forests that once stood here. The district houses the Moscow State University and the film studio Mosfilm. Much of the territory belongs to the University, and many of its staff are living here as well.
