The Saxon church is located on the slope of a hill overlooking the village and dates from the early 14th century, but the fortification around it was built almost two centuries later. At the beginning of the 16th century, the small hall-type church was fortified by the elevation of the choir with two floors of defense accessible by a mobile ladder.
