Shreya, If you are working in a IT company in Taramani, then Vadapalani is not place for you to stay. Go to Adyar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur if you can afford to spend 10,000/- or more for decent 2 bedroom apartment. Else, if you can't afford that much, go to some place in OMR, ECR or East Tambaram. All the best.

Vadapalani is famous for Murugan Temple. It has lot of studios in it namely, Vijaya-Vahini, AVM so on ... It has one Hospital named Vijaya Hospital. Also some decent Hotels . The Hotel Saravana Bhavan is one of very famous hotel in south India .... Some IT companies like TCS and HCL ... I live here ... I dont think it has any minus point even it has .. they are minimal ...
If you go to the next area , which is called the kollywood ... Kodambakkam ....Tamil Film area... near to Koyembedu bus stand ... and also near to T.nagar , the shopping street for the whole Chennai.. Its a loving place ...

its a nice religious place

kumaran colony at vadapalani was a calm area(once upon a time).Those days i mean in eighties and seventies,it was a marshy land.Very few people those days settled down there since we had to live with snakes( reptiles and amphibians) around.After my return from U.S. in 2004,I am stunned by the way it has transformed with buildings propping all over.Now its too over populated...

Anyway...economy boost speaks up in this area cos of koyambedu terminus that sprang up recently.Thanx to Almighty for giving us a wonderful area.

I've been there before 7 years...and once i visited the lord muruga temple...and it's a nice visiting there....we people enjoyed and experienced a lot from lord muruga and that temple...
