Nevado Salkantay (Mount Salkantay, also spelled Salcantay)

This mountain rises to 6271 meters (20,570 feet)in height. Nevado Salkantay is located 16 kilometers (straight line distance) south of Machu Picchu. The peak is part of the Cordillera Vilcabamba, a chain of mountains between the Urubamba and Apurimac rivers.
