The Texas Ornithological Society (www.texasbirds.org) owns and operates the Sabine Wood Bird Sanctuary with its site partners, The Golden Triangle Audubon Society. The santuary is open to the public year round. Admission is free to members. Non members may purchase a 30 day pass good for all Texas Ornithological Society santuaries at the entrance kiosk.
The site is an excellent location to observe mingrant songbirds in the Spring and Fall. Lingering neotropical migrants can be found in the winter. The best times to visit are Late March to early May and September through mid October.
