Berlin TV-Tower - Fernsehturm (Berlin)

The Berlin TV-Tower is nearly 368 meters high. In the inside, there is an observation-platform and a rotating restaurant.
In the GDR-era the TV-tower was affectionately known as St. Walter (After Walter Ubricht)
Because if the sun shines on the Fernsehturm's tiled stainless steel dome, the reflection usually appears in the form of a cross. This effect was neither predicted nor desired by the planners.

Also affectionately known as the Telespargel (tele-sparagus) because of its shape.

  • I first visited this tower in 1981 and would come back here several times in 1982 and 2001.
