The Bergen County Isolation Hospital was founded in 1914 on approximately 68 acres of county-owned land. The complex was established as a public hospital for communicable diseases by the Board of Chosen Freeholders. In 1923, the hospital’s name was changed to Bergen Pines Isolation Hospital. Today it is known as Bergen Regional Medical Center.
