Named after the first owner who was financial taycoon of Sao Paulo in the early 20 century, this building was the first skyscraper in Sao Paulo built in a city center in 1924 by architect Cristiano Stockler das Neves and his father, Samuel das Neves. It has 13 floors and 50 m height. The one of the oldest grocery stores in the city - Casa Godinho still operates on the ground floor of this building and it never closed for business. In last decades the building was abandoned and only grocery stayed alive. In 2010 city authorities expropriated this building and in 2012 some restoration and construction works were performed.
