Shoeless Joe Jackson Plaza (Greenville, SC)


This plaza in front of the West End market, has a life sized statue of Shoeless Joe Jackson, in baseball uniform swinging his "black" betsy bat. The bricks around the fountain are made from Old Comisky Park in Chicago, Il, where Jackson played as a professional.

The park was dededicated in 2002 by former Dodger manager and Greenville resident Tommy Lasorda, Congressmen Lindsey Graham and Jim Demint and the baseball coaches from Clemson and South Carolina.
