A replica of Lord Jgannath Temple at Puri is being constructed here at Khanikar TE area. Most of the workers here were from Odisha and hence devotees of Lord Jagannath. When Mr J B Pattanayak was the Governor of Assam, he took keen interest to construct this temple and managed fund from many sources. Though the temple was practically incomplete at that stage, he was inv ited to inaugurate the door of the temple, as he was on verge of his completion of hos term as Governor. However, it is mainly funded by Jagannath Cultural Society
