house, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, 1948_construction, historic landmark, residential garage, United States Navy, Modern (architecture)
Constructed in 1948 during a period of transition in military residential style, these buildings are the only housing built on Yerba Buena Island during the immediate post-war period.
The residence and garage are stylistically similar, as they employ many significant characteristics of Modern and International Style architecture. Several characteristics in particular relate these buildings to Bay Tradition, a local expression of the modern movement.
Due to the construction of the new Yerba Buena I-80 westbound off ramp, both buildings were moved here in late 2016.
