  शास्त्री नदी/जयगडच्या खाडीवरील या पुलामुळे रत्नागिरी आणि गुहागर तालुके एकमेकांना थेट जोडले गेले. रत्नागिरी ते गुहागर हे अंतर चिपळूण मार्गे साधारण १३५ कि.मी.होते, तेच अंतर आता भातगाव पुलामुळे अंदाजे ९५ कि.मी वर आले आहे.(हातखंबा-निवळी-आबलोली-शृंगारतळी मार्गे) याशिवाय जयगड/गणपतीपुळे वरून थेट गुहागर/सावर्डे जाण्यासाठीही एक पर्याय उपलब्ध झाला आहे.

  Comment added from a deleted tag originally posted by user dilipjadhav2009- The history of the Medhe Bhatgaon bridge is very interesting.This was planned along with coastal highway,when Mr.Antule was C.M.of maharashtra.It got approved in Shivsena-BJP govt.time,and named as Bhatgaon -Rai bridge.This is because Rai is more bigger village as compared to Medhe,population is about 550.The bridge was planned between Bhatgaon & Rai, but Mr.Narayan Desai & other insisted to Govt.that it should touch to Medhe as the village has no access,the population is less,hence it is not getting any grands for connecting roads,most important is that Govt.would save 6 to 7 Crs.if they build the bridge towards Medhe.Finally Govt,accepted the facts & bridge was constructed toward Medhe village.This I like to share because common people are not aware of facts,the credits are given to other persons.Fighting aganist all odds Mr.Narayan Desai was successful in making Medhe Villagers dreams to have roads in village.
