History of Zamuang Chief of Rengdil village , Lalthankunga had setup a village at Lungkulh to protect and claim his territory in 1930, which was the very first beginning of Zamuang village. He moved his village to the site of the present Inspection Bungalow within no time. And he moved again to the site of the present electric department quarters. Zamuang is named after the plot of land at the road to Hriphaw village which was very good for jhuming. The then C.I., Damsavunga said that HUNDRED loads of paddy could be harvested EFFORTLESSLY on that plot of land. And the village is being so called ZA (HUNDRED) MUANG (PEACEFUL) till now. When the Mizo Union rose in 1952 the chief and some of his men moved to Rengdil village and ruled Zamuang from there. Even after the fall of aristocracy in 1954, Zamuang was under Rengdil Village Council and it has its own Village Council from 1960. The first VC members are - President-Suakthuama Vice - Lalhlira Secy-Zakamlova Member- Rajkumar(Lokhawmpa) Thansiama
