apartment building, Greek Revival (architecture), 1840s construction
A row of five 4-story Greek-revival residential buildings completed together in the 1840s as townhouses. The upper floors closely retain their original appearance. The ground-floor storefronts have undergone several iterations over the years. The upper floors are clad in orange brick, some of which has been painted over in red. Each rowhouse is three windows wide, with stone sills and lintels. Each roof is topped by a a paneled metal cornice with paired brackets and single modillions between brackets. The ground floors are occupied by a Subway sandwiches, London Grocery Corp. smoke shop, Chop Shop noodle restaurant, 10th Avenue Pizza & Cafe, and a now-closed bar.
