Kanda maneater shooting location

Near this area Jim Corbett shot Kanda Maneater described in his book Man Eaters of Kumaon. The exact place is north of the ridge and about one kilometer before Taria village, coming from the Kanda Forest Rest House. The pics show only the place where the Forest Department made a small monument where arguably is the shooting place. I dont believe this is the right place, because it doesn´t fit Corbett descriptions completely. The real place must be in the vicinity and is open to deep research to find it.

  • I visited the place where tje park officials built a memorial where alegedlly Jim Corbett shot the Kanda maneater. But this is not the correct location, since it didn't fit Corbetts descriptions of the place. No perpendicular ravine full of big boulders at the botton and no tree at the ravine.
