apartment building, Queen Anne style (architecture), 1891_construction
3-story Queen Anne-style residential building completed in 1891. Designed by Andrew Spence, it is clad in red- and white-painted brick with a black cast-iron ground-floor storefront. The columns at the ends of'the first floor are of the French contemporary Neo-Grec style. The facades decorative brickwork consists of three rectangular panels of white brick below the roof cornice, with four stripes of white brick extending down from each to a stone base midway up the 2nd floor. The metal roof cornice has brackets and is extended forward at each of the three brick panels. At each location, a chimney also rises above the cornice. The ground floor is occupied by 192 Books, an independent bookstore that opened in 2003.
