30 years ago it was a nice middle class neighborhood and my home from 1962 until 1975 I guess times have changed. 120 years ago it was the Edge of the frontier until you hit Charlotte. Some of the richest people in Rochester lived on Lakeview Park and the surrounding area. The Driving Park race track was there until the early 20th century. It was the 15th ward until about 1890. Most of the houses were built from 1890 through 1920 as part a large growth spurt Rochester had during that period. |
