St. John's Parish House (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / New York City, New York / Waverly Place, 224
 parish hall  Add category

2-story parish house completed in 1974 to replace the original from 1854, which was destroyed by fire. It has four pilasters crowned by a handsome, low pediment. The entrance doors are set off to the left beneath an unadorned section. Three tall windows fill the spaces between the pilasters in the upper half of the building. The Greek Revival style of the church has been adhered to, and this little building is a handsome adjunct to the church. It also houses Rattlestick, an off-Broadway theater that aims to "present diverse and challenging plays that otherwise might not be produced." The theater is entered by a door right next to the parish house door.
