Home for waterfowl and grassland nesting birds.

The primary breeding waterfowl in this area are mallards, blue-wing teal, wood duck, and northern shoveler. The area also supports nesting and migrating populations of American bittern, northern harrier, Swainson’s hawk and yellow rail.
