About 35 years back the villagers found Lingam at the present spot while digging. They consulted MahaPeriyava and he advised them to build a temple. Since Lingam was found in Navalur - He named Navaleeswarar. Subsequently Akilandeswari Amman sannidhi, Vinayagar & Murugar Shrines were added. Recently Ayyapan Shrine in typical Kerala style was built. There is also a huge kolam in front of Shivan sannidhi. Shri MahaPeryava had predicted that it would take some time for the Temple to become popular which is coming true today.
Prodhosham is celebrated in a big way here.
