Great Buddha of Kamakura (大仏, daibutsu)

There is a monumental outdoor bronze statue of Amida Buddha in the Kotokuin Temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

Access: Bus from Kamakura station; also within walking distance of Hase-dera. Or treat yourself to a taxi--show the driver the picture in your guide book. You can also hike from the temples near Kita-Kamakura station.
